Saudis May Ban Letter ‘X’
A
group of Islamic clergy in
Saudi Arabia
has condemned the letter
"X” because of its similarity to
a hated banned
symbol – the cross.
The
Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of
Vice, which has the ultimate say in all legal, civil and
governance matters in the kingdom, issued a fatwa, or religious edict, against the "X.”
It
came in response to a Ministry of Trade query about
whether a Saudi businessman could be granted trademark
protection for a new service with the English name "Explorer.”
The
request from the businessman, Amru Mohammad Faisal, was
turned down.
"Experts
who examined the English word ‘explorer’ were struck
by how suspicious that ‘X’ appeared,”
Youssef Ibrahim writes in the
New York
Sun.
"In
a kingdom where Friday preachers routinely refer to
Christians as pigs and infidel crusaders, even a twisted
cross ranks as an abomination.”
In
response to the turndown, Faisal wrote an article that
appeared on several Arabian
Web sites, sarcastically suggesting that the
authorities might consider banning the "plus” sign in mathematics because of its similarity
to the cross.
Among
the commission’s earlier edicts is the 1974 fatwa
declaring that the Earth
is flat.

EXPLOITING WOMEN:
Tehran & Toronto
By RON GRAY CHPLeader@chp.ca
CHP National Leader
Socialists and Libertarians clamoring to legalize
prostitution in Canada
would probably by astonished to learn that they're walking
right in the
footsteps of the mullahs of Iran.
As Iran has diverted oil revenues from social needs to
weaponry and the
support of terrorism, the Shi'ite nation has had a growing
problem with
street prostitution. Tehran's
proposed solution - one that conforms to Shari
'a Law - is a proposal to establish what they call "chastity
houses".
To understand why "chastity
houses" - which are really brothels - fit
within
the Ayatollahs' rigid interpretation of Shari'a, you have
to comprehend the
Islamic principle of sighe: although the Qur'an limits a
man to four wives,
Shari'a allows sighe
- "temporary marriage"
for
a fee. In fact, if not in
name, it's prostitution. And
like all prostitution, it exploits women.
Tehran's proposed "chastity
houses" will be places where destitute women
can "marry" Iranian men for a
half-hour or so, and thus eke out a living. And the government will get the embarrassment
of prostitution off the streets.
Of course, the exploitation of desperate women is still
exploitation,
whether it's under Shari'a or
socialism.
In Tehran or in Toronto, or
anywhere else in the world,
legalized
prostitution is merely caving in to the problem of sexual
exploitation, not
solving it.
In Iran, the problems that
drive women to degrade themselves by prostitution
are primarily their inability to get an education,
oppressive domination by men, and a crumbling economy; in Canada,
it's more likely to be rebellion, addiction, and a crumbling moral code, eroded by the
sexualizing of our children in schools and the entertainment media. But the
result is still the same: when women are desperate, there will always be johns
and pimps willing to exploit them.
It would be a compounded tragedy -
and a moral outrage - if our government made it easier for
the exploiters by legalizing
prostitution.
PLEASE
NOTE:
I
find a great deal of similarity between the hyprocisy of
the Muslims and
their position on prostitution
(calling WHORE HOUSES 'chastity houses') and the
hypocritical position of the
Roman
Catholic Church on
divorce (calling
DIVORCE annulment)!
Their
official position is NO DIVORCE unless, of course,
you have enough money and clout, like Senator
Ted Kennedy whose
'claim to fame' came on the heels of the sordid,
irresponsible and possible criminal Chappequiddick Tragedy!
An annulment of marriage cannot be officially given unless one
party can prove dishonesty, sexual perversion or frigidity
that hampers the fulfillment of the act of sexual
intercource. Usually the annulment is
requested almost immediately or no later than a few weeks after the marriage vows were
made.
In the case of Kennedy, the
hypocritical Roman Catholic Church
issued 'the old skirt chaser' an annulment after being
married to Joan for decades and had three children.
I
HATE HYPOCRICY IN THE MUSLIM RELIGION AS WELL AS THE
ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION.!!!

Note:
Historical record...Sympathy For Joan
Teddy divorced his wife Joan in 1981, had the marriage
annulled [The Catholic Church
relegates the marriage as never occurring] in 1983,
so that he could remarry as a Catholic in 1992. The second
marriage was even "blessed" by the Catholic
Church in 1995. "A Catholic
annulment, or a declaration of nullity or invalidity, is a
statement of fact, by the Catholic Church, that a valid
marriage (as defined by the Catholic Church) never
existed." Too bad for
the children Patrick, Edward, and Kara -their parents were
never married according to RC. Legally, no? Spiritually,
no?
What a lying scam.!!!!!!! m.s.
Haman, Hitler, Hussein

Evil
Has a Name and It Begins with "H"
Many people don't want to acknowledge that evil exists; they believe that
people do bad things because circumstances or environment
or conditioning leaves them no choice. Others know that
evil exists but see it as a vague, unnamed malevolent
force that somehow preys on innocent people. Yet history
shows that evil is real and personal—and in fact, some
individuals have become the very personification of evil.
This month we remember one such person, and his name is
Haman.
The festival of Purim, celebrated this year on March 14, commemorates God's
victory over Haman's evil intentions to utterly destroy
the Jewish people. Today, the feast of Purim is a
lighthearted holiday traditionally celebrated by humorous
enactments of the book of Esther called Purim schpiels.
Noisemakers, games and delicious pastries known as hamantaschen
(Haman's ears) are all part of the tradition, and many
people play practical jokes similar to those on
"April Fool's Day."
But the actual events of Purim, as recorded in the book of Esther, were
anything but light-hearted for the Jews living at that
time. The ancient world was cruel. Entire cultures and
peoples were destroyed through wars. Even so, rarely, if
ever, was genocide practiced during peace times against a
people submitted under the rule of a king. Rarely, if
ever, was the mass execution of such a people methodically
planned to be carried out in one day. Yet this is the
atrocious evil associated with that name, Haman.
"And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king's provinces,
to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both
young and old, little children and women, in one day, on
the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the
month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions"
(Esther 3:13).
It is plain to see that such a decree is evil, but what about the person
behind it?
There have always been villains like Herod, Haman, Hitler and Hussein;
groups like Hamas and Hezbollah who have sought to wipe
out the Jewish people. They have been diabolically
inspired by Ha Satan (Hebrew for the adversary) who is
God's sworn enemy. He longs to wipe out the Jews because
in so doing, he imagines himself defeating God's plan and
making Him to be an impotent liar. After all, God promised
to protect and preserve the Jewish people—in fact one
might say that He has staked His reputation on the
perpetuity of the nation. No wonder the destruction of the
Jewish people has been the objective of
"evildoers" throughout history. While those
demonically inspired individuals probably do not know or
care about spiritual realities, their own evil
inclinations have provided Satan with opportunities to use
them.
Why do people have such a hard time associating evil with a person or
persons, with naming them as evil? When President Bush
called terrorists "evildoers" he was ridiculed
as though he had made a blunder unbefitting his office.
Why try to justify the actions of evil people? I remember
a public service ad on television that admonished,
"Don't leave your keys in your car or you might help
make a good boy go bad."
We have fashioned blame shifting into an art form to avoid the harsh reality
that people are responsible for their evil actions. Why?
There are things about evil that by nature, we do not want
to know.
Evil
Has a Source and It Begins with "H"
A major source of evil in this world is the human heart and we all have one
of those. From earliest times, "…the LORD saw that
the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that
every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually" (Genesis 6:5).
This was not merely an evaluation of one or two generations. It was God's
diagnosis of the human predicament for all time. Y'shua
(Jesus) said, "For from within, out of the heart of
men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications,
murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit,
lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All
these evil things come from within and defile a man"
(Mark 7:21-3).
Evil is not some unnamed malevolent force that exists solely outside the
realm of humanity. The Bible speaks a great deal about
evil (462 times) and specifically identifies people as
evildoers 44 different times. Not only is evil real.
People are evil. And part of our evil nature is that we
don't want to admit it.
Our modern and post-modern mindset resists the idea that evil has become
inherent in human nature because of the fall of our race.
How ironic then, that when confronted with their wrongs,
many shrug it off by saying, "I am only human."
Precisely. Deep down, everyone knows that not one of us is
exempt from evil thoughts, words or deeds. Most would
simply prefer to call it something else.
Perhaps we avoid the reality that our hearts are evil because we reserve
that word for the likes of Haman, who, after all, must be
in a category shared only by other ruthless murderers like
Hitler and Hussein. But Haman's heinous crime did not
begin as a diabolical plan for genocide. It grew out of
what the Greeks called "hubris." It grew out of
the wretched seething resentment of inappropriate pride.
"When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was
filled with wrath" (Esther 3:5). That seething wrath
towards Mordecai the Jew gestated and gave birth to
Haman's monstrous plan to wipe out all Jews.
Could something as common as hubris lead to something so, well, so evil as
genocide? Yes! Pride is a powerful deceiver that causes
untold destruction. It keeps us from seeing and hating our
own sin. The feeding and festering of arrogance under any
cover, be it nationalism, religious fervor or you-name-it
can take human beings down a maniacal path toward
genocide, gas chambers, the slaughter of innocent Kurdish
women and children. But it will not always be so.
Evil
Has a Destiny and It Begins with "H"
Haman had a hangman's gallows erected for the special execution of the Jew
he hated most, Mordecai. But Haman's plans backfired in
one sudden moment of judgment. Standing before the King,
Queen Esther confronted Haman with his evil plan. The
truth came out in the most unexpected way—through a
young woman who had risked her life to uncover the plot.
With Haman's wickedness revealed, justice was swift and
relentless.
"Now Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, 'Look! The
gallows, fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai,
who spoke good on the king's behalf, is standing at the
house of Haman.' Then the king said, 'Hang him on it!' So
they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for
Mordecai" (Esther 7:9-10).
Those gallows are a part of the history of the Jewish people's survival but
they also symbolize God's intention to judge all evil some
day.
God will judge evil, if not in this life, as was the case of Haman, then
most certainly in the next. Evildoers have a destiny and
that destiny is called Hell. One day all will stand before
the King to have justice meted out—and then there will
be no avoiding the reality that we have sinned—that we
have thought, said and done what was evil in God's sight.
Thankfully, God did not condemn us to be left to our own evil inclinations.
God sent His only beloved Son, a Jew named Y'shua, into
this world to change our destiny for good. Satan in his
pride, tried to get Jesus to bow down to him. Failing
that, he foolishly constructed a "gallows" from
which Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be hung. The
enemy must have thought Jesus' death would defeat the plan
of God. Instead, that gallows, the cross of Christ, became
the point of victory by which the adversary and all his
evil accomplices would be destroyed.
Purim teaches us that evil has a name, a source and a destiny. It
demonstrates how God uses the unexpected to separate good
from evil, to preserve His people and put forward His
plans. Though we see our sin on a far smaller scale, evil
still resides in each of us. Its source is pride, which
has corrupted every human heart and given birth to unholy
thoughts, words and choices. But God used the most
unexpected means to separate us from our sin. He nailed it
to Calvary so that He could give us a new name, a new
heart and a new destiny.
The cross became the means by which
our own sin would be executed so that we might be saved.
That is the good news that we must believe and proclaim to
our world. Evil is real. Hell is real. And because of
these realities, we have been given the only real
solution, the finished work of our Messiah Jesus.
"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!"
(2 Corinthians 9:15).

GOD - FINALLY, MUSLIM LEADERS ARE BEGINNING TO
SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE EVILS OF ISLAMIC
TERRORISTS! - Pastor Max Solbrekken

Saudi
King: Terror Is Work of the Devil
|
|
CAIRO, Egypt — Islamic
terrorism is "the work of the devil," and Saudi
Arabia will fight it "until we eliminate this
scourge," King Abdullah (search)
said in an interview broadcast Friday.
In the interview with ABC-TV's Barbara Walters, he also
said the kingdom will expand the rights of women and
eventually allow them to drive.
The king denied assertions that his government finances
schools that teach a fundamentalist philosophy of Islam
that can lead to militancy.
Saudi Arabia "will fight the terrorists, and those
who support them or condone their actions, for 10, 20 or
30 years if we have to, until we eliminate this
scourge," the king said.
When asked why groups such as Al Qaeda (search),
the terror network led by the Saudi-born Usama bin
Laden (search),
had taken root in the kingdom, he replied: "Madness
and evil. It is the work of the devil."
Foreign observers and liberal Saudis have long
contended that the way Islam is taught in Saudi schools
encourages attitudes that may lead students to become
terrorists later.
"For those who level these charges against us, I
say provide us with the evidence that this is happening
and we will deal with it," the king said. "It is
not logical or rational for us to be supporting it.
"We have also regulated our charities and we have
closed offices around the world, and we have withdrawn
support for institutions that we found to be
extremist," he added.
After the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States, the
kingdom took steps to prevent money collected by Islamic
charities from being diverted to terrorist groups.
The kingdom was initially faulted for being slow to
clamp down on militants and their financing, but it
drastically stepped up its measures after Al Qaeda-linked
groups launched a series of terror attacks on Saudi soil
in May 2003.
Abdullah, who became king on the death of his
half-brother Fahd in August, told ABC he was committed to
increasing the rights of Saudi women, who are currently
not permitted to drive cars and who need a male relative's
permission to travel abroad or attend university.
"I believe the day will come when women
drive," he said. "In fact, if you look at the
areas in Saudi Arabia, the deserts and in the rural areas,
you will find that women do drive.
Driving licenses for women "will require patience.
In time, I believe it will be possible," the king
said in the ABC report, which was posted on the network's
Web site.
But when pressed on whether he would legalize female
driving, Abdullah indicated Saudi men were too
conservative for such a step any time soon.
"I value and take care of my people as I would my
eyes," he said. "I respect my people."
Parts of the interviewed were aired Friday morning on
"Good Morning America." The full interviewed was
scheduled for broadcast Friday night on ABC's
"20/20" news magazine show.

BISHOP
T.D. JAKES’
EIGHT
SECOND PRAYER!
By
Pastor Max Solbrekken, D.D.
"Lord,
I love you and I need you, come into my heart, and bless
me, my family, my home and my friends, in Jesus' name.
Amen."
-
Bishop T.D. Jakes
They call it ‘Bishop Jakes Eight Second
Prayer’. People are testifying that it works wonders!
And I believe it! Even a short and direct prayer like
that is certainly better than no prayer at all! In this
column I will examine this prayer and seek to understand
why it does work, as short and hurried as it is!
We have several precedents for it in the Bible,
among which is ‘The Sinner’s Prayer’! It comes
from the parable Jesus told about a publican who smote
his breast and prayed thusly: “God
be merciful to me a sinner.” (Luke 18: 13).
Our Lord compared the short, broken-hearted
prayer of a repentant sinner with the long, proud prayer
of a self-righteous Pharisee! Jesus said: “I
tell you, this man went down to his house justified
rather than the other.” It wasn’t the length of
the prayer, but its sincerity and humility that
mattered!
Let me be clear, however, that when a person has
been received into God’s kingdom, it would be totally
inconsistent with reality to make short prayers a habit,
without spending quality time in God’s presence
pouring out feelings of love, gratitude and worship to
our precious Lord and Saviour!
JESUS
PRAYED SOME SHORT PRAYERS!
Jesus prayed several short, powerful and
effective prayers, while lifted up on the ‘cross of
shame’ (Gal.3: 13). Among the ‘Seven Sayings of
Christ’ from the cross came this powerful utterance: “Father,
forgive them: for they know not what they do.”
(Luke 23: 34)
That short prayer was of utmost importance
because it confirmed the Old Testament prophecy of the
promised Messiah: “And
He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bear the
sin of many and made intercession for the
transgressors.” (Is.53: 12).
It also shows
us the love of God for sinners!
St. Paul
made this staggering
statement: “And to Jesus the mediator of the new
covenant, and to
the blood of sprinkling, that
speaketh better things than that of Abel.” (Heb.
12: 24) What does that mean?
When Cain murdered Abel, Almighty God confronted
him thusly: “What
hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood
crieth unto Me from the ground.” (Gen. 4:10). The
blood of righteous Abel was asking for revenge, but when
Jesus was dying on the cross, He cried out: “Father
forgive them…” Jesus’ blood cried out for
forgiveness while Abel’s blood demanded revenge!
JESUS’ BLOOD
SPEAKS TODAY! It
speaks forgiveness and mercy, grace and peace, healing
and deliverance! The blood of Jesus speaks loud and
clear to a lost and dying world, to the sick and
suffering, and to the poor and lonely among us!
I have personally witnessed the change in
thousands of lives as repentant, broken-down sinners
have called on the name of Jesus our Lord and have
received the forgiveness of sins and the “peace
that passeth all understanding” into their
innermost being!
(Phil.4: 7)
BISHOP
JAKE’S PRAYER!
We find a number of great gospel truths
encapsulated in ‘T.D.
Jakes 8 x 8 prayer’. Firstly, God is properly
addressed as Lord and in the prayer we rightly express
our love for Him! Jesus said to His disciples: “Ye
call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well: for so I
am.” (John
13: 13
); “And why call ye Me
Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke
6: 46).
The Bible says: “Therefore
let all the house of
Israel
know
