THE ROMAN EMPIRE WILL BE A MAJOR PLAYER WHEN CHRIST RETURNS 

The Roman Empire was functioning as a world power at the time of Christ's first advent, and will again be a major player when Christ returns!

The momentous developments in Eastern Europe - which staggered the world's imagination just a few years ago - already seem "old hat" in our fast-paced world!

And the official declaration of the European Economic Union (Dec. 31, 1992) - defacto creating the the United States of Europe, is quickly fading from our memories.

The world's concern has more recently shifted to the tragedies of Somalia, Bosnia and Sudan....

And the very recent much heralded PLO, Israel Peace Accord, which grants Palestinian self-rule to limited areas of Israel's occupied West Bank!

EVENTS OF PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE MOVE QUICKLY ACROSS WORLD SCENE

ANCIENT BIBLICAL PROPHECIES ARE PRESENTLY BEING FULFILLED

While most people easily assimilate and just as quickly forget what is happening, evangelical theologians and 'eschatology' scholars dig deeper and diligently investigate the amazing accuracy of ancient Biblical prophecies, Biblical prophecies which are presently being fulfilled.

ESCHATOLOGY IS THE STUDY OF 'THE DOCTRINE OF LAST THINGS'

When it comes to eschatology - the doctrine of last things - we naturally look to the Middle East and Europe to find the missing pieces of the end-time puzzle.    

Whether or not U.S. President Bill Clinton is a "gay-loving, dope-smoking, skirt-chasing, draft-dodger" - as a high ranking U.S. Air Force Major stated recently, really doesn't affect the outcome of Biblical prophecy!  Nor will the outcome of Canada's next election ... or the efforts of the Feminist Movement, Aboriginals for Self-Government or the Pro-Choice Abortion advocates.

THE END-TIME DRAMA WILL UNFOLD IN EUROPE & MIDDLE EAST WITH THE ROMAN EMPIRE AS MAJOR PLAYER

All these things fade into oblivion as we look at the greater scenario of the "End-Time Drama!"  Europe and the Middle East is where most of the action will take place.  The Roman Empire was functioning as a world power at the time of Christ's first advent, and will again be a major player when Christ returns!

And considering that the ancient Philistines - now called Palestinians - lived "next door" to the Israelis, what an amazing development to see them moving back into that same position, as we approach the "end of the age!"

RUSSIA & SOME MUSLIM REPUBLICS OF SOVIET UNION WILL BE MAJOR PLAYERS IN END-TIME DRAMA

Russia and a number of the Muslim republics of the former Soviet Union will also be major players in Ezekiel's prophesied assault on Israel by the "northern confederacy in the latter days!" (Ezekiel 38 & 39)

This is why the revival of the Roman Empire, the breakup of the Soviet Union and the recent Mid-East peace accords between Israel and the PLO - as well as Jordan - is so important!    

WHAT AFFECTS THE NATION OF ISRAEL AFFECTS GOD.  

THEY WHO BLESS ISRAEL WILL BE BLESSED AND THEY WHO CURSE ISRAEL WILL BE CURSED

What affects the nation of Israel affects God, for He calls the Nation of Israel  "the apple of Mine eye."  The Almighty declared that they which bless Israel shall be blessed and they who curse Israel shall be cursed. (Genesis  12:3)

ISRAEL - GOD GUARANTEES THAT ISRAEL WILL NEVER CEASE TO BE A NATION FOREVER

It matters not that the world is filled with haters of Jews - Jewish people and anti-Semitism is "on another roll".  When one considers God's covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we get a good idea of why the people of Israel  have survived, and their nation, the nation of Israel  was re-born, and today are at center-stage commanding world attention.

ISRAEL - Even though some of Israel's sworn enemies recently sat down at a peace table disavowing terrorism and signed a peace accord recognizing Israel right to exist, we know all too well the real danger Israel now faces from her fanatical neighbors.

This scripture however, guarantees that Israel will survive: "Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar:  The Lord of Hosts is His name."

"If these ordinances depart from Me, saith the Lord, Then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever, Thus saith the Lord:  If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord." (Jerimiah 31:35)    

ISRAEL CANNOT BE DESTROYED

Let me say unequivocally to all haters of Jews and Israel, neo-nazis and fanatical Muslims: "Israel cannot be destroyed - Unless you can knock the sun, moon or stars out of the heavens or the earth off its axis, quit trying to destroy Israel!"

In his new book, Reverend  Hutchings - a foremost leader in the field of eschatology writes: "According to Bible prophecy, Rome broke into chunks, or nations.  For 1,000 years it has controlled the world and broken it in pieces through the Roman colonial system.  The colonial system was broken into smaller pieces after 1945, and then, according to Bible prophecy, nations from the old empire have united to form a federated, revived Imperial Rome."

The twelve flags presently flying over the 'European Common Market' building in Brussels, represent the nations which comprise this timely union of nations!  And even though there is a long list of other nations seeking entrance to "the club", that figure will be cut down to ten just before the notorious leader called "Antichrist" "Anti-Christ" "Beast" "666" - the vile person, the little horn and the beast takes charge of an emerging European superpower!

THE BEAST WITH SEVEN HEADS AND TEN HORNS BEING FULFILLED PERFECTLY AS IN DANIEL'S PROPHECY

St. John's vision of the dreadful beast with 7 heads and 10 horns, in the Apocalypse is being fulfilled "to the letter" today, as is Daniel's prophecy of the menacing image with the 10 toes composed of iron and clay.       

EUROPEAN COMMON MARKET WAS BORN MAR 25, 1957 AS THE VATICAN IN ROME ORIGINALLY CALLED THE CLUB OF ROME

The European Common Market was born on March 25, 1957 as the Vatican in Rome - the city on 7 hills which God states will play a major role, in concert with the Antichrist - and was originally called "The Club of Rome."

6 NATIONS SIGNED ACCORD CALLED "THE TREATY OF ROME"

And the accord which was signed by the following 6 nations represented was called "The Treaty of Rome."

In his dream, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon saw a great image which Prophet Daniel interpreted as the panorama of history in preview.  God showed Daniel in perfect detail the future of each world kingdom from that time until the "end of the age!"

This speaks of Christ's Kingdom which will come in the end and destroy all corrupt man-made kingdoms, and set up His own Kingdom which shall last forever!

THE RE-BIRTH OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE WILL ONCE AGAIN BE A MAJOR PLAYER WHEN CHRIST RETURNS 

All these world empires were conquered from without, but the Roman Empire self destructed and rotted from within.  And we are now in the very day when the feet and toes of Daniel's image is taking shape - the re-birth of the Roman Empire!

St. John's vision of the End-Time is a duplicate of Daniel's dream: "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and I saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having 7 heads and 10 horns, and upon his horns 10 crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." (Revelation 13:1)

God gives us the interpretation so clearly: "And here is the mind which hath wisdom.  The 7 heads are 7 mountains upon which the woman sitteth.  And the 10 horns which thou saweth are 10 kings... The water which thou saweth where the whore sitteth are peoples and multitudes and nations and kings."

"And the 10 horns which thou saweth upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make he desolate and naked.  And shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire.  And the woman which thou saweth is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth." (Revelation 17:7-10)

THE CLIMATE IS PERFECT FOR WORLD GOVERNMENT & THE RISE OF THE ANTI-CHRIST!

The End Times - That we are living in the "end-times" is an understatement.  These are most assuredly the end-times - last days of God's grace before Christ's imminent return = the Second Coming of Jesus.            

Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan stated several months ago, "We are now living in the most dangerous time in the world's history."

With the breakup of the Soviet Union, the balance of power has shifted to an unknown quantity.  At present the world is experiencing a great instability and uncertainty, not knowing what is happening to the deadly atomic firepower based in the former Soviet republics.

With Iran's insatiable hunger for nuclear weapons and oil money to pay, and with Kazakhstan's abject poverty, the prospects are indeed fearful!  The world's only real hope is found in Jesus Christ and His glorious gospel, for both time and eternity
