WE ARE AT WAR WITH ISLAM

The brutal slaughter of children in Russia is yet another wake-up call we are not heeding. We keep hearing that we are at war, but no one wants to identify the real enemy--an Islamic civilization that sanctions such murder as the justified means for establishing the religious and political dominance of Islam.

WAR ON TERROR  or WAR ON ISLAMIC TERROR

To refer to this current situation as a "War on Terror" is a refusal to recognize and clearly state the source of that terror. Terrorism is a tactic; it does not name the enemy it names the tactic the enemy uses. In 1941 the United States declared war against Nazi Germany, we did not declare war against blitzkrieg. We are not threatened by the IRA terrorists, nor are we under attack by Marxists. It’s Islamic terrorists that have put us under siege. Let’s get it straight – it’s a "War on Islamic Terror". This is as Samuel P. Huntington has pointed out a "clash of civilizations". We are in a war with Islam.

ISLAM IS CALLED A "RELIGION OF PEACE"

We bury our head in the sand while Islam is described as "a religion of peace." In fact, it has been pointed out the word "Islam" itself means "peace". We are told that the acts of the Islamic terrorists are an aberration of the true Muslim faith. It has been said that," the terrorists are to Islam, what the Ku Klux Klan is to Christianity."

What we must understand is that those actively killing in the service of this vision are not some sort of renegade extremist Islamic heretics created by conditions peculiar to the 20th century. From its birth in the seventh century Islam spread by fire, terror, and the sword, creating converts as a by-product of conquest. Remember how much of the modern Middle East had for centuries been Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian, that is, Western, before the rise of Islam: Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, western Syria, northern Egypt, northern Africa, western Iraq--all were transformed into the "House of Allah" by violent conquest. J.M. Roberts, author of A History of Europe, writes: "Islam from the start has been a religion of conquest".
  
Remember too that Muslims occupied half of Spain for seven centuries and that as late as the 16th century the Turks were at the gates of Vienna. The current propaganda about Islam as the "religion of peace" belies fourteen centuries of aggressive war against those considered "infidels" to be brought under submission to Islam. History stands as a witness itself against the idea that Islam is a "peaceful" religion.

When one views the popularity of Osama bin Laden throughout the Muslim world, along with the public celebrations of terrorist attacks, Iran's continuing support of terrorism, and the lack of unequivocal condemnations of terrorist murder from Islamic governments, we must come to this conclusion: The Islamic terrorists are not so much of a "fringe movement" as we are led to believe.

Who are we to say that an interpretation of Islam endorsed by millions is a deformation of its true nature? I'm inclined to believe that these millions of Muslims cheering on the terrorists are better judges of the true character of Islam than are Western "politically-correct" apologists.

PRESIDENT BUSH NEEDS TO CALL ON MUSLIM NATIONS TO STOP THE TERRORISM

In the 1980’s Ronald Reagan challenged the Soviet Union to live up to their new policy of "Glasnost," and prove that they had really changed. Standing in front of the Berlin Wall, Reagan’s words are well remembered, "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall." If Islam is a religion of peace, as some claim, a similar challenge needs to be thrown out to them. President Bush needs to call on the Muslim nations to stop the terrorism and bring these international criminals to justice. We need more than the "weak lip service" some Islamic heads of state have given. "‘Bring’em in dead or alive’ and prove to the world that you hate these terrorists who have supposedly misused your religion."

WE ARE SEEING ISLAM WITHOUT THE MASK - WHAT IS THE TRUE NATURE OF ISLAM

I believe that gradually people across our nation are realizing the true character of Islam. I hear it on talk radio, and I read it in the letters to the editors. People are waking up to the fact that Islam is at war with the Western world. The "mask" is being pulled off – and the true nature of the beast is becoming more and more apparent. The more children who are slaughtered in the name of Allah, the more "non-combatants" that are beheaded, the continual refusal of Muslim leaders, here and abroad, to cry out against these acts of violence, only reinforces the reality that people are being awakened to, that Islam is a wicked, evil religion.
